Olympic Valley, Calif. (October 13th, 2015) – WinterWonderGrass Tahoe Festival is returning for its second year at Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows in North Lake Tahoe, California April 1-3, 2016. Music, Brews and Mountain are the foundation for WinterWonderGrass, a boutique winter music and craft beer festival featuring more than 20 bands and 16 California breweries over three days on three stages.
Drawing from the environmental beauty and mountain lifestyle as inspiration for the event, these finest ingredients of the North Lake Tahoe lifestyle are brought together at WinterWonderGrass Tahoe to create the ultimate community gathering.
Headliners this year include acclaimed artists: Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, Leftover Salmon and Elephant Revival. Northern California native and world renowned bassist/vocalist from Primus, Les Claypool will be gracing the stage in Tahoe with his bluegrass act, Duo De Twang. California and Nevada craft breweries will be pouring their signature brews from 2:30-5:30 p.m. each day in the two heated beer tents. Both brew tents include side stages surrounded by hay bales and whiskey barrels, hosting raucous bluegrass jams. WinterWonderGrass Tahoe has partnered with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and Golden Road Brewing as the festival’s presenting beer sponsors. Napa Valley’s sustainable farmstead and winery, Long Meadow Ranch will join WinterWonderGrass Tahoe to present The SoapBox Cafe and Wine Bar.
WinterWonderGrass supports local North Lake Tahoe non-profits with a focus on sustainable living. This year, WinterWonderGrass is partnering with Tahoe Food Hub, Tahoe Fund, The Shane McConkey Foundation and Rex Foundation. The festival will have composting and recycling stations to offset the environmental impact of the event with a goal of improving upon the 83% waste diversion of 2015. A Klean Kanteen stainless steel commemorative festival mug is included with each three-day festival ticket dramatically reducing single use plastics. WinterWonderGrass is a community and family friendly event with a colorful kid’s zone including face painting, hula hooping and crafts while parents can sip on libations as the sun sets over the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the music plays into the night.
