North Lake Tahoe Unveils Touch Lake Tahoe Campaign

Interactive online map encourages visitors to visit lakeside communities during winter months

NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. (February. XX, 2016) — As snow continues to fall in the Sierra, the Business Association Chamber Collaborative, a sub-committee of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association is proud to announce the creation of the “Touch Lake Tahoe Secrets” interactive online map. The purpose of the interactive map and its components is to encourage those who visit North Lake Tahoe during the winter months to make their way down to the lake and patronize the many businesses that call the lakeshore home. The map can be found on GoTahoeNorth.com.

North Lake Tahoe’s rich beaches and quaint towns are idyllic in both summer and winter. While the steep slopes of the many North Lake Tahoe resorts are where the crowds tend to gather during the winter months, there are many secrets to discover much closer to the shores of the lake.

Winter is a historically busy time for North Lake Tahoe, with business booming at many of the area ski resorts. However, during this time, many lakeside communities don’t see the large amount of foot traffic as the ski resorts–hence the need for such a powerful and informative interactive tool that showcases all things North Lake Tahoe and the many hidden gems that occasionally go overlooked during the winter months.

The online interactive map features photos taken by renowned local photographer Ambera with silent A photography. Ambera is a proud member of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce. Also featured alongside the map are a series of suggested itineraries, making a first time trip to North Lake Tahoe easy for any traveler.

The “Touch Lake Tahoe Secrets” campaign is multifaceted–integrating several marketing components including rack cards and stickers that have been distributed to several local area businesses and hotels. The rack cards were printed by local Tahoe City business Atomic Printing.

In addition to the map, the campaign will be hosting a series of scavenger hunts throughout the winter months, with several hundreds of dollars of prizes at stake. To participate and win prizes, visitors should follow @TahoeNorth and the hashtag #TouchLakeTahoe on Instagram.
